HELICHRYSUM OIL(Helichrysum splendidum)

Helichrysum, the flower that contributes to “Everlasting” and “Immortal” Essential Oil, and known by the names Helichrysum Angustifolium and Helichrysum Italicum, is an European herb native to France, Italy and a few neighboring countries. This is a very costly oil and scarcely available, but unlike other essential oils which have a short shelf life, this oil can be stored for a very long time.

The chemical profile of the

Veriditas Helichrysum italicum variety Serotinum,

includes a high level of :

o   Neryl Acetate (over 40%), which acts as an anti-spasmodic / muscle relaxant, may serve to “unlock” old injuries and is involved in the muscular-knot-releasing effect.

o   Alpha-, beta-, and gamma-curcumenes, which act as anti-inflammatory agents.

o   Di-ketones, which possess superb ability to regenerate new cells and tissue.

MY PERSONAL USAGE:

First of all, let me tell you, it doesn't smell that good.  It's a bit pungent.  LOL  However, it is so good for my skin, I just overlook that.  I use this fabulous oil two ways; 1) In my homemade facial scrub formula and 2) Adding a bit to my foundation.

ANTI-INFLAMMATION FACIAL SCRUB

1/2 Cup of Jojoba oil as the carrier oil

25 uncoated Aspirin (GeriCare Aspirin - I ordered via Amazon)

1 Tablespoons of Organic Lemon Juice

25 drops of Helichrysum Oil (http://www.edensgarden.com/products/helichrysum#.VowpTfkrL-c) 

Finely grind the UNCOATED Aspirin in a mortar with a pestle.  The coarseness of the powder depends upon how intense you want the exfoliation to be.  I like a medium grind, not too powdery.

ADD the Jojoba Oil, Organic Lemon Juice and the Helichrysum Oil to the Aspirin.  Mix well.  

i use this scrub about once a week.  It is particularly great for breakouts, cuts and puffiness.  Remarkable tightening without harsh dryness.

Before a special event, I will sleep with it on my face overnight.

ADDING TO MAKEUP FOUNDATION OR CONCEALER

I add one or two drops to my foundation on a makeup sponge.  Go easy with the oil because the smell is strong and you don't want to have folks looking at you weirdly.  LOL
